The Lake Creek Greenway is a beautiful place to take a walk or spend the afternoon. It connects the Cooks Branch Conservancy, Nature Preserve and Montgomery County Lake Creek Preserve and Jones State Forest in order to preserve green space where animals and plants can spread out and travel freely. Lake Creek and its associated watersheds contain some of the few water bodies in the area that meet national standards for contact recreation and aquatic life. Situated in one of the fastest developing parts of the state, these bottomlands and riparian areas offer local recreational and ecological services that are important to community members, local wildlife and the region’s ecosystem.
