Education

The Woodlands Area offers a lifetime of education from preschool through primary, secondary, college and graduate study. The area is served by the Conroe Independent School District, Magnolia Independent School District, Tomball Independent School District, Montgomery Independent School District and numerous private institutions including the college preparatory.

A choice of multiple pre-school and children centers are also located in the community.

Higher Education Institutes

Several colleges and universities are located within a 20-Minute Drive Time from the District. These institutions create opportunities for local residents to improve their education and for employers to train their employees. Area residents can also attend Lone Star College - Montgomery in the Lone Star College District, the Lone Star College - University Center, a partnership of universities and the private sector, which provides unduplicated bachelors and masters degrees as well as continuing professional studies, and Sam Houston State University - The Woodlands Center. These colleges provide bachelor’s degrees, master’s degrees and continuing professional studies. The University Center provides access to partner schools through interactive technology. It is conveniently located near the District and ideal for working professionals looking to further their career through education.

Simultaneously, the Lone Star College-Montgomery provides academic transfer courses and corporate and workforce training programs. One of their workforce training centers occupies more than 83,000 square feet of classroom, lab and hands-on learning space in two separate buildings. In addition to advising and registration services, the center also has an on-site bookstore, testing center, library, and multipurpose room. Plus, since it is based in a large industrial park, the facility is the perfect location for customized corporate training via Lone Star Corporate College, the college’s corporate training entity.  As such, the Center has partnered with many of the area’s manufacturing and service companies to provide ongoing workforce support in order to meet the needs of local businesses.
